Marc Monrose honoured at Bacchus Business Club dinner at Le Meurice
Marc Monrose honoured at the Bacchus Business Club dinner at Le Meurice.
An exceptional evening where passion, transmission and excellence came together around the same table.
On Friday 27 June, in the hushed majesty of the Hôtel Le Meurice in Paris, the Bacchus Business Club brought its six-month term to a close in style. This renowned circle brings together decision-makers, entrepreneurs and wine enthusiasts around inspirational figures for confidential and committed dinners.
This year's event was devoted to leadership and transformation, and featured two exceptional guests:
- David Larramendy, Chairman of the M6 Group Management Board
- Marc Monrose, Managing Director of Château Saint-Maur Cru Classé in Provence and Domaines Roger Zannier.
A tailor-made menu based on Domaines Roger Zannier wines
For the occasion, the Chef at Le Meurice has devised an exclusive wine and food pairing dinner based on four emblematic Domaines Roger Zannier wines:
- Appetizer: Carpaccio of sea bream with citrus fruit and coriander
L'Excellence Blanc 2024 - Château Saint-Maur Cru Classé - AOP Côtes de Provence
- Starter: Macaroni with artichokes and foie gras, Albuféra sauce
Beaujolais Blanc Fût 2023 - Domaine Les Terres Dorées - Jean-Paul Brun - AOP Beaujolais
- Main course: Duck breast, grilled vegetables, black olives
Grande Reserva 2019 - Quinta do Pessegueiro - DOC Douro
- Dessert: Strawberry flower (meringue and strawberries)
Clos de Capelune Rosé 2023 - Château Saint-Maur Cru Classé - AOP Côtes de Provence
A symphony of combinations, reflecting the diversity and personality of the Zannier Group's terroirs.
Marc Monrose's inspiring career
While the discussions on the changing audiovisual landscape captured the attention of all present, it was Marc Monrose's human and sincere story that particularly impressed the guests.
Originally from Burgundy, Marc ran a bicycle accessories business before moving into the world of wine, at the instigation of Roger Zannier, his father-in-law and founder of the group. Roger Zannier successively acquired three estates:
- Quinta do Pessegueiro in Portugal (1990s),
- Château Saint-Maur Cru Classé en Provence (2011),
- Domaine Les Terres Dorées in the Beaujolais region (2024).
In 2011, Marc took over the management of the estates, including Château de Saint-Maur, which then comprised 42 hectares. Today, the vineyard exceeds 100 hectares, 25 of which are planted with Rolle, a white grape variety of elegance and future potential in Provence.
A clear vision: to grow without betraying the terroir
Beyond the logic of expansion, each acquisition is driven by a single ambition: to reveal the most faithful and elegant expression of the terroir of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, between the sunny plains and the foothills of the Maures massif.
In 2021, the conversion to organic farming is launched, with the first vintages certified in 2024 (Clos de Capelune and Clos Saint-Vincent).
While rosés are the hallmark of Saint-Maur's DNA, Marc Monrose is now more ambitious with his whites (Rolle) and Syrah/Cabernet blend reds, with gourmet cuvées such as Le Clos de Capelune Rouge.
The real challenge? "Selling what we do best".
"Producing a great wine is exciting, but selling it? That's the real art," he says lucidly.
To achieve this, Marc is counting on three levers:
- The customer experience: making wine a memory, a shared emotion.
- Selective distribution: starred restaurants, prestigious hotels (Le Meurice, George V, Crillon, etc.).
- An entrepreneurial vision: over 500,000 bottles produced per year, 30 permanent employees, presence in 25 countries.
A moment of transmission and inspiration
Marc Monrose's presence at the Bacchus Business Club evening was much more than a simple entrepreneurial testimonial. It was a lesson in commitment, simplicity and long-term vision.
Château Saint-Maur is continuing its transformation, driven by a passionate team and a firm commitment to showcasing the great terroirs of Provence, the Douro and Beaujolais, vintage after vintage.
